l'm looking at having a hole in the wall gas fire fitted.The install instructions say that combustible cladding ( wallpaper ??? ) should be 3mm clear of the fire facia/front panel.It also says that some discoloration or staining may ocurr with blown vynyl papers.
The fire will be a secondary heat source for spring / autumn use.
If It's not practical to paper the chimney breast, the other half will not have the alcoves in a patterned paper and a plain painted chimney,we will have to rethink and go for a fireplace suite and inset fire which will cost double the ammount in order to paper the top half of the chimney breast.
Have seen postings re cracking of paint/anaglypta paper,and one from Pro decorator who asks for fire manual before decorating chimney breast.
As these fires have been around for a few years now does someone have experience of them ?? ,do they create a problem when wallpaper is introduced
into the equation.I'm stuggling to find any info /discussion on subject.
