WALLPAPERING ON PLASTERBOARD

Hi guys, I've just recently boarded (dot and dab) my living room basically to straighten out the walls. As my plastering skills are limited I was wondering if it was possible to wallpaper straight onto the boards if they were sealed and backing paper was then pasted on ?

Many do paper straight onto new wall boards to save money but the lack of a plaster skim will mean the first time you (or some other poor soul in the future) tries to remove the paper to redecorate, it’s almost a certainty it will remove & destroy the paper surface of the boards as well.
