A friend recently skimmed over my Artexed ceiling, there's plenty of hollows and I'd like to put lining paper over it.

Can you help;

1/. how long should I wait until I can paper it?

2/. he's brought it up like glass, can I just go ahead with the papering or should it be rubbed down a little first?

3/. What grade of paper sgould I use - 1000?

Many thanks.

Thanks LJW, but;

1/. til it's dryish? I thought you should wait 7 to 14 days. It looks dry now and it was only done yesterday?

2/. what is size, sanding paper?

3/. got it

Drying time varies according to thickness of the plaster and temp / humidity.. A ceiling I skimmed recently was ready for paper the next day .. It had had 2 coats of paint the day after that !
