I have had a new electric boiler and new pressurised cylinder fitted (not fed from electric boiler). I believe the electric boiler must have a room stat not just TRV's even although there is a bypass fitted.

We fitted a drayton remote control programmable room stat and a screwfix LAP immersion timer but the flat is for renting purposes and I'm not thrilled with either control. The LAP one is far too small and fiddly so I definately want it changed. As far as the Drayton, I see it isn't timeable as such, it just has segments of the day you pre set.

The flat being for renting I can't help feel it would be simpler to have a single two channel timer, but as I say I believe I must have a room thermostat for the elec boiler (and regs...)

Must I buy something like this

or can a room thermostat be connected to most timers

Thanks for advice on it

Thanks that does indeed sound ideal but I've just realised I will probably need a remote control thermostat for positioning it in a suitable place.

I could probably use this in the hall where the radiator can be the one without trv but it'd be on short section of wall right opposite the radiator. Pity so close- prob not ideal...

Is there anything like the one in my link not quite so expensive would anyone know?

Drayton MI?

Thinking about it with your cylinder being direct I am not 100% sure if you can control this with a programmer.
