Hi

I have "inherited" 3, 12v, 10w halogen wardrobe lights without a power supply.

I'd like to use them, regardless of there now being LED equivalents, simply because the lamps fit the holes in the wardrobes and newer alternatives dont.

Obviously I will be powering via the mains and so can anyone recommend a suitable transformer / PSU for the lights.

Thanks

C.

Hello,

Thanks so far...........

I'd like all 3 lamps to be powered from one PSU / transformer.

Yes I can still get the bulbs

Thanks

Crakkers - check the rating of your door switches for inductive loads if you intend to go with Winston's suggestion of a transformer, rather than secure's electronic transformer.

Thanks all.

I prefer secures suggestion so far.

Bad idea. Not recommended for more than one light as they will cause radio interference with long cables. Also they tend to fail and replacement costs out way any saving.

I replied to his "removed" post:

Also SMPS tend to fail whereas transformers tend not to. Any saving in initial cost is lost in the cost of replacements.

That is why, of the many electronic transformers I installed in my Mum's house many many years ago, only one has ever failed...

I replaced it with what I had available at the time, an Osram electronic transformer & it is still going strong.
