My knowledge of heating is somewhat limited...our old warm air heating - no idea of make of boiler / fan etc, but installed with the house in the '70s - stopped working yesterday. I've tried to 'spark' it with the button inside but nothing's happening. The timer still works, it still 'clanks' on - which I've now worked out is the sound of the spark (I'm sorry I can't think of the proper word!) but then nothing else. THere seems to be gas or air going in when I hold that button as there's a 'wheeze' of sound.
So, I'm guessing it's going to be, either, the fan? (I couldn't even tell you if there is one, but I've reading around and assume there has to be one!) Or the spark - but I don't know enough about either to make a guess. I would also presume that one is pretty expensive and the other not so bad??
ANy help, at all, appreciated - this may even go beyond my dad's expertise!
