washer hot water supply help needed

Hi i my washing machine recently broke down and i purchased a new one the old one has a hot and cold water supply but new one has only cold i was wondering what to do with hot water supply pipe ? it has a stop cock on so should i turn stop cock off to make sure no water then just tie out of way ?

Normally its best to remove the fill hose from the tap, and then put a blanking nut complete with rubber washer over the tap end (if the conventional 1/4 turn washer tap has been used). Plenty of taps are left uncapped though!

Or at the very least, remove the red plastic handle (hold it still while undoing the screw though!).

Beware of slow drips from the unused hot outlet though, they don't always shut off fully. I have seen a flood because of this.

Those plastic caps are ideal, though not easy to get hold of from the big DIY chains. Try a proper plumber's merchant. Or www.bes.co.uk and search for part number 16037.
