Hi All,

Im helping a friend move and tomorrow bringing the washing machine, I’m looking under the sink and am confused

The hose is obviously shut off otherwise water would be steaming out of it, so I expected to see some kind of shut off valve to turn the cold water off to the washer, but there isn’t one, all there is is a connection as in the picture attached, ive never seen one

so when I fit the washer tomorrow, how do I turn the water on to it?

sorry if I’m being thick but I can’t see anything to turn it on lol

Plastic handle has snapped, where the screw is in the middle, there’s a spindle, for the time being use an adjustable spanner, pliers or grips to turn it. Valve looks old, so a new handle may not fit, so I’d recommend a replacement.
