Washing machine drain pump rating confusion

Hi

I need to get a replacement drain pump for my Haier HW100-B14636 washing machine.

The original pump is marked as 220-240V 50Hz 0.2A 25W/13W.

The replacements I can find online are marked as 220-240V 50Hz 0.2A 40W.

Both are 220V and 0.2A but have different power ratings. How is this? My electrical engineering knowledge is limited but always thought Power = Amps x volts so how do they both deliver different power from the same current? Also, P=amps x volts doesn't actually work out correct for either of the pumps (0.2A x 220V = 44W).

Can anyone explain this please and does it matter if the replacement pump is rated for a higher power? Will a higher power pump just draw less current? Will the machine spit out an error message if the current doesn't match the expected value?

Thanks

I'm sorry to be the one to disillusion you, but in AC motor circuits, there is the Power Factor (PF) to consider (wattless power/current). Being an inductive consumer of electricity, it will be running at a PF of less that unity (1) so could have pf of 0.7 or lower Some manufactures of small motors take the PF into consideration when quoting running power and others do not. Anyway, I doubt if a few watts in either direction will matter to your W/Mc.

Thanks. Which is the most important parameter here? Is it just to make sure that the current rating on the replacement pump is the same? I have found pumps that claim to be compatible but some have 0.25 A and some has 0.2A.
