I have had problems with the Drain Pump on a Neff 5340 XOGB/04 which was solved after invaluable advice from Zipper for which I am very grateful. However 11 months on I now have the dreaded E06 back only this time it is intermittent in a seemingly random manner. This has been most perplexing but I remembered observing that different manufacturers bring out the drain hose either at the bottom of unit or at the top. Why?
I wondered if this was related to avoiding emptying the drum before the wash had finished. Neff spec show a stand pipe of between 500mm minimum and 900mm max. Further thinking about my random failure to drain problem lead to consider that the pump might not be as efficient as when new so unable to empty the pipe which is below and before the drain standpipe, Neff don't specify how the pipe should or should not be routed.
When I repaired the pump it was difficult to avoid kinks in the pipe in the confined space behind the washer drier so I cut the kitchen unit low down at the back and rerouted the drain hose. Such an arranged could result in a lot of water been left in the pipe after the pump was switched off in a machine cycle and the water could return into the drum so trigger the E06 error in another part of the cycle.
I would appreciate any comments so as to further understand what is happening
