Wasps dont normally use the same nest , its obviously a desirable neighbourhood thoughCheck out your loft for a nest. We moved into our bungalow in Feb 2019 and found a number of abandoned wasps nest in the loft. Some time later whilst talking to a neighbour he spotted a wasp going through a tiny hole in the mortar. All holes have now been pointed and the old nests removed.
Give the hole a good drenching with Raid wasp spray.....this will sort out the creatures inside.
Then, block the hole up with a blob of silicone or whatever.
Wasps tend to be more defensive than aggresive to humans, but work when its quiet, at dusk.

Ive had a chance to magnify this on the Laptop and its definitely a Mason Bee, one of the best polinators there is in the insect world which we may have to rely on with the decline of Honey and Bumble beesIt does look more bee shaped in the photo - I hope it's not masonry bees as be a shame to kill them.
