Waste Water flowing off plastic grate.

Hi,

I have an issue with my Bath, Shower & Sink waste. The pipes from these stop approx 1/2" above the plastic grate to the drain. When the water flows some hits the grate then runs off onto the concrete (The grate is flush with the pathway.) Should these pipes actually pass through the grate (but be cut off above the water line?)

Thats correct - they'll always splash otherwise. Just an inch or so below the grate is fine. The grate may have a 'knock out' pattern moulded on to it.
