Watchdog AA, in case you missed it

I doubt they can fix cars by the roadside anymore. Their core business these days is subscriptions.

So if I setup a system where I take peoples money every month and have a fancy advert, and then don't fulfill the promises, and then act all apologetic as it was "all very busy at the time", my "forecast" for 2012 was "a bit out" would I get prosecuted under some law or other, or does it all just "go away" because they are a big company, fukin stinks as far as I'm concerned, "taking money under false pretense comes to mind........

Who have the AA contracted to carry out their calls?

Is it Homeserve?

Clearly whoever the contractor is they have not been able to provide the service response required.

As one who loves detail it would be interesting to know what boiler problem took 59 days to repair.

Indeed - and they haven`t had one from me for 5 years now - tossers got shirty because I happened to have too many breakdowns one year - after 20 years without one  They are owned by the French :P

It appears phjones carry out the actual work, which is not exactly encouraging.

They are owned by the French
If you mean Centrica, they sold it in 2004.

"Venture capitalist CVC Capital Partners--which bought Kwik-Fit two years ago--and private equity firm Permira Advisers bought the AA from Centrica last month in a 1.75bn [pounds sterling] deal"

Incidentally, Centrica is not a French company.

Although I see PH Jones vans around I have never been involved in any repairs or even advice on anything they have done. I can only assume that they only do social housing jobs.

It seems odd that as a large employer we dont see anyone who works for them posting here.

THE FRENCH   no wonder it took 59 days to repair a boiler, between going hor he hor he hor every 5 minutes, they do need time to cook shag and ride bikes around in stripey jumpers, give em a break, it's a lot to ask at the same time as make crap Nissan vehicles as well, there is only so much time in the day

This is typical of an organisation - and there are lots of them, that have lost the plot!!

I am a Heating Service Engineer I DO NOT fix cars or do recoverys, so why do companies like the AA have to try and get in on an act they know nothing about? no doubt they are like all the others that get a job in and then ring round names on the GSR list promising to pay within 7 days and expecting you to agree to go out a midnight for £25!! when will the madness end!! (I have taken my Vehicle fleet cover away form the AA and gone to Green Flag instead) why should I support a Company that is trying to steal my livelihood from under my nose I for one am glad they are Fxxxxing it all up the sooner these people withdraw from our industry the better we will all be !!

Because there's a subscription on the end of it. They'll offer to service anything they can get a monthly premium for. If you add up everything in life w***ers like these ask you to chip in monthly for you'll see that it's an industry in itself and a big one too.
