My combi is a worcester 28i,all rads have trv's.On the casing of the trv there is a arrow pointing towards the rad and a arrow pointing in the opposite direction,ie towards the pipe that goes back to the boiler,.Does this mean that the trv's will work in both directions?.Also when the c/heating comes on the hot water enters the rad via the lockshield valve and then goes via the trv back to the boiler .Is this working correctly.ie. is everthing going in the right direction round the system.?.

Thanks kevplumb, but is it ok for the hot water to enter the rad thro the lockshield valve.

If they are bidirectional, then yes.

Usually the arrow thing can be adjusted somehow- probably by twisting the ring it's on. The arror should point in the direction of water flow.

On good TrV's its is pressed into the body as it makes absolutely no difference and is irrelevent. Balance system with lockshield as usual. Flow through rad will be the same.

Danfoss had a wonderful invention whereas you altered the position on the valve mechanics depening on flow or return connection.

I hope the head is facing horizontally, as you so often see TRV's vertically installed on the flow pipe opened fully due to the heat of the rad closing them as opposed to the room temperature.
