If the pump was the only thing changed before the noise started then it can only be pump fitted the wrong way round or a worn out 3 way valve . Could also need the bypass opening a little if there is one .
After changing the pump we had a water hammer, only obvious a few months in when both CH and HW were on and CH call went off. The pump is and was fitted in the correct orientation - same arrow direction as the old one.
The change that cured the problem was me changing pump modes - the UPS3 has about 7 modes to play with.
