hi, i have a stelrad wlx heater for my c/h & water. i only want the water to come on in the morning but it seems to be coming on through out the day along with the cental heating. i have tried to turn the water off on the dual timer but its not working. please help as my gas bill has shot through the roof this month

So little information.........and so little chance of an answer.

My guess is that you have a boiler fitted with Gravity Hot Water with no independent control therefore the hot water will always work in sympathy with the central heating (All old inefficient systems work this way)
a control upgrade to include a hot water motorised valve and cylinder thermostat would address this but a modern condensing boiler and update would make more sense in the longer term.
