Hi. I’m getting water seeping thru on a daily basis. I have attached some pictures. I was wondering if it’s a simple case of drying the area and putting some new sealant on?

Pls help as quite a lot of water seems to be getting in on a daily basis even though it’s not raining much or at all. Thanks.

That doesn't look like water ingress to me, more like condensation judging by the water droplets on the glass, is this a kitchen or bathroom?

This is happening in the bathroom and 2 bedrooms. Upstairs only. And if I push the black seal in, water comes out.

Condensation deffo. Has the bathroom got an extractor fan ?

The weathers turned now so it's colder outside, you have cold bridging through the spacer and cooling the inner pane, at the same time you probably now don't open windows as much, maybe dry your clothes inside now, not opening the bathroom window when showering/bathing, same with cooking steam in kitchen, even just burning gas produces wet heat all resulting in all the humid water laden air to cling to the coldest surfaces in the house. Even two people overnight can breathe out over a pint of water, that has to go somewhere

it doesnt but anytime the shower is used, the window is opened to let the steam out. this only appears in the mornings btw, not during the day.

hmmm ok, so maybe i need to get a couple of dehumidifiers and place them around the house? i dont really want to be opening windows.

You've answered your question - Condensation definately!

It will certtainly help but opening windows will cost less.[/QUOTE]

heat will escape though...

at least i know for sure what the issue is though now. thanks guys

How long have you lived there, has it been doing this all the time or just started, what have you done differently this year for it to start?

Be honest, winters here so do you dry clothes on radiators? You've already said you shut windows now, do you have an extractor hood in the kitchen - do you use it?

Not opening windows traps that humidity in, ventilate the upstairs for half an hour by creating a through draught, turning heating up a degree or two can help too by keeping surfaces warmer so condensation can't form, it doesn't condensate on the next coldest surface and then the next and then the next, condensation doesn't work like that, if you keep the house warm then it equalizes and condensation can't form, something to do with the dew point, physics was never my strong point though

approx 1 yr now. not done anything differently as far as i know tbh. i do turn the heating down at night though but i have always done this so i dont know why this would be an issue. never dried clothes on radiators-we have a dryer. we have an extractor hood but dont use it much-will use it more now.i dnt think our behaviours have changed at all tbh.

opening an upstairs window for an hour or two a day will help a lot

Thanks mate. For now I’ve been using a dehumidifier as I don’t want to let heat out if I can help it
