Hi,

We've noticed a leak in the boiler and have found this :-O

Is this something we could fix ourselves or need external help?

Thanks in advance

You will need to get an RGI in as the part that has broken can form part of the flue system and protect from products of combustion entering the building. For now the appliance should not be used until it can be deemed safe.

Thank you for the quick reply.
Does it mean is dangerous and we can't use the boiler??
Will it cost very much?

It could well be as the extent of the damage and corrosion can' really be told from that picture so the advice would be not to use it.

If it's just that one part then it would be the cost of the part plus about an hour.

Depends where you are for labour prices.

You should definitely get change from £150 though

By the look of that, I'd think that will be least of your problems.

He means that the amount of crap that is in it it may require more work. Would need an guy on site to assess it properly. Hence why I said this
