i am looking forward to add a small water feature to my garden, like small fountain.i need advise on water pumps.i am looking into sollar powered kits but i do not know their quality and performance.i am bit confused weather go for mains powered one or sollar powered one.which brand is best either way.thanks

I have used mains pumps for fountains for years and they have given unblemished service. :D Pump choice depends on how deep is your pocket. If its just a wee feature, you might be better buying an all in one fountain pump etc.

The only problem with main pumps is making sure they are wired up safely and correctly. Take a look at the electrics section of the forum for loads of advice on safe wiring on pond pumps.

Go for an electric mains pump, for a small water feature you wont need anything big. This is of course you have the supply for it.

Solar pumps aint the best, and for a pump the size you probably need, it will cost next to nothing to run it
