I am interested in a property. Floodline map shows there is no problem with flooding. The property has a window in the floor which shows a well and the water does not seem very far down. Reassurance or otherwise will be appreciated. Thank you

It might be an old well that they made a feature of. If it was a problem I'm sure it wouldn't be on show.

Land that has never flooded can have wells with their water surface not far below ground level. There are several active wells in this village in places that are far higher than the highest recorded flooding.
