hi ive got a cheapo table that apears to be just stained so no protection. i take it i can just buy some kind of wax and get rubbing? -what am i looking for in the wax? -is it just a case of going to a local shed and buying whatever they have or should some be avoided etc? or am i barking up the wrong tree with wax -what else could i use?

A couple of brands to look for are Liberon and Mylands. Both goo makes. I favour Liberon Black Bison wax, which despite it's name is actually available in white. Instructions are on the tin.
