I have two identical external lights on my house which are used to light up a dark passageway. They are operated from an internal dimmer switch. Regardless of what wattage bulb I put in the light output is very weak. They are a standard bayonet bulb or candle bulb. They have worked fine for the last 8 years but now give a very weal light. Can you advise me of what the problem is likely to be? Thanks in anticipation.

acumulation of dirt and grime !!!!!!

may not be so obvious how dirty it actualy is

take one lamp out and see does the other still work.

i am wondering if a wiire has broken (unlikely but a vague possibility)
