Wear bar indicator

I am aware of the 'wear bar indicator' that is on tyres but I'm not sure at which point they become illegal?

All 4 of mine are very close to the bar but not onto it. I can feel there is a slight dip (but not much) as I move my fingers across.

I know I will need new ones very soon, but it will be useful if I can get another month's wear out of them.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

iirc on cars it is 1.6 mm,im sure the wear indicators actually measure at 2mm.

oh be fair, how do we know how many miles you do a month and in what conditions..

ColJack; see my original question above. I didn't ask how many miles were left in my tyres.
