All websites or just this one?
Could be numerous reasons: your internet connection speed, the other programs running on you computer at the same time (some in the background), the statistic trackers on the websites trying to make connection with 'home' and taking their time etc etc

Cheers everyone..

I forgot about the temp files...will try that..

All pages..even the last one left on the screen. I deleted my anti virus for a while to see if it was that...nope.

Ill have a look to see whats running in the background.

Did your computer come with IE7 and Vista?

If you have XP and had IE6 and updated, either manually or Win Updater, you can uninstall IE7 and it will revert back to IE6 automayiocally.

Thanks Dave..the last time I re formatted the computer I ran into grief and a repairer ended up doing it...he loaded a new version of windows XP and ie7...

I did look into downgrading but apparently it can be a bit naughty and cause problems.

mines been slow today too.

On the speed check link I get
Download 1976Kbps
Upload 128kbps

What do this mean

Of course I should have written my post to Zampa

Yep done that twice in the last week as it happens..

So far ive defragged it

Run a 'clean up' programme to sort out any junk

Emptied all the cookies and temp files

Emptied the other temp files folder in windows

'Pinged' it

Reloaded Ie7

Cancelled programmes that are running in the background via MSconfig
.

Looks like im going to have to re-format it sometimes soon. :(

Easy enough to do, but its the complications afterwards.

to add to your list check for spyware and then run a registry checker might be invalid or corrupt entries slowing system down?
