I'm fitting a mixer shower and connecting male couplers to it for the pipework, but cannot get the joint between the male coupler and mixer to stop weeping. I've loaded the male thread with PTFE, and also tried it with a washer in to see if that helps, but it still weeps. Is there something else I could use to seal it?

Thanks for any advice

Try some LSX - available from all plumbers merchants. However, you should not really need it, PTFE is normally OK.

wrap the ptfe where it is jointed with mixer not on thread
and make sure pipe is straight with mixer

Problem solved, thanks very much for the advice. I've made sure the PTFE is wrapped around the end as well as the thread.

Cheers
