Brass to Brass face waterproof mating technique

Using a 1/2 inch to 15mm adapting coupler into a brass shower mixer and there is a weep on the joint. Used lots of ptfe and also added the jointing compound...still it weeps.
Options left to try?

Loctite 55? It has helped me in the past.

Please post a photo of the parts you are trying to join. Do you think it is a tapered thread?
