Morning all, for a little while now, i have found my steering on my car to be a bit lighter than what it used to be, and sort of feeling like when i turn the wheel, sort of feels like i am skating on ice...

I took it into qwik fit last weekend and he said that there was nothing wrong, checked the tyre pressures, balance, tread, etc... and said that all was well. Ok fair enough, however, this week, it seems no better at all, i just feel there is something wrong with it, and with me not being an expert on cars and vehicles, then i thought i would ask you guys on here as i'm sure there is some people on here that know a lot more than i do.

I do check my pressures and the tread quite often to make sure all is well, so negligence on my part isn't a main concern for me. If it helps, i do find that sometimes when i apply the brakes, my wheel does turn to the left a little bit, not sure if this is a problem or not.

If it helps, it is an unmodded, Pug 106, X reg.

Thanks all.

Gaz.

Did Qu**k fit check the tracking, if you have some steering damage that can radically change the steering feel. If I where you I would take it to someone who knows what they are doing. It must have been the first time they let a victim escape without lightening his wallet. Seriously I would have the car check over ASAP.

Later models with power steering have an electric motor powering the rack. The motor could be faulty, there is nothing you can check yourself take car to specialist asap, could get dangerous.
