Welland Valley beer Festival

Do any of you Northants guys go to the WVBF? I go down to visit a mate in Gretton for the weekend, and have a couple of halves. It's an amazing wekend (mainly Saturday)

Too far away from me! Its sort of half in Northants and half in Rutland. (I'd need a months wages for the taxi fare back home.) Shame, I haven't had a pint of Ruddles since Greene King took over, and rather hoped the Rutland Brewery would be represented.

Was hoping to try and get to the local Steam Rally last B/H as they had a good real ale tent, but couldn't, so thought i'd stick my nose in at the local Con's club as they're holding a beer festival in a couple of weekends time. However, the other half has her own ideas....

only just started on drinking the real ale. god i must be getting old. and had my first pint of ruddles today. not bad i must say. st ives beer festival next weekend. **** up then dive into the sea for no apparant reason. love beer festivals. yet would love to go to an oktoberfest.

Been trying to drag my mates to that for years! Can't believe no one has as much enthusiasm about going. It would be awesome!!! Das boot!

It really is an amzing BF. I've been a few times, and watching the old buses struggle up the hills is something else.


Why not find a B&B. Maybe one in a pub..........

B&B is a good plan, means a dent in the beer fund though... Struggled up that hill at Rockingham a few times in a truck! It's the going down that worries me, pray the brakes dont fail! Been a few come to grief going down there, a crane flipped over not so long ago.

Ruddles isnt Ruddles anymore. Greene King took over and moved brewing to Suffolk, where County is now brewed, but its said its not the same as GK aren't using Langham well water to brew it.

Similarly I believe GK cannot use the Ruddles Best label now, as again, the recipe relies on water from Rutland.
