Hi All,
I have some copper pipes that were plastered into a party wall and developed a leak about a month ago. The pipes have since been dug out of the wall and have been replaced with new copper.
I have a plasterer coming next week to seal the new pipes back into the wall. To prepare for the plasterer, today I covered the pipes in gaffa and sealed where the tape wouldn't go with expanding foam.
All was going fine until I got to the worktop level and had to remove the worktop to gaffa the pipe.
I noticed that the pipe below the worktop level was wet.
Is this condensation or do I have a leak in the new pipe? The old plaster around the pipe was wet and probably still is a little.
I can see that the new pipe have been places over a little piece of metal sticking out of the wall. I hope she wet is condensation and the metal hasn't punctured the metal.
I have had a small dehumidifier running in the cupboard below the worktop for the last few hours and the pipe is dry.
Thanks
