What am I missing?

It's a bit odd that two seperate 'bulbs' should blow, then the power is lost.

Often one 'bulb' blowing can cause an MCB or a fuse to blow, but it seems odd two or more bulbs have to blow before the power is lost.

Vague detail, but often the case when a householder explains what happened.

Im quessing more that the fault on the circuit knocked the two bulbs out
