If I caould convince the lady below, what do you think the odds of getting planning permision to put a sizeable extension on the rear?

find who "owns" the gardens......flats, council or otherwise have odd ways of allocating ground around the building

in the first picture, the gravel drive and footpath to the right is the width of my garden at the rear.. hers is the width of the paved area to the left..
( red area in pic below is mine )

I own my garden, she owns hers..

we'd both have to give up some garden for the extension. ( yellow on pic below )

I might add that there is already a small 1 storey "extension" to the rear of hers..( blue on pic below ) might be the loo or a utility but seems to be part of the original design as next door and identical buildings on the estate have the same..

Why bother with the lady downstairs?... just extend out without her doing hers... she could add hers later if she wanted.

But seriously, we could all have a guess on this site, but ultimately you'll have to ask the council for permission anyway, so why not ask their advice now?

just an idea  full height to the right and across to your boundary-less a pathway. then a "barn end " or gable end to roof giving loadsa room to your property . to get over touching the downstairs wall ..have it as an open area
