Please see the pictures

This is a new build house and these are expensive double glazed units.
The lower recess in 14 frames have holes badly chiselled into them like these pictures.

Surely they cannot be drainage holes ?

This is a timber framed house....so where exactly is the water draining to ?

Yes thats the drainage holes. Water will drain out from the small gap between the frame and the PVC cill on the outside, Pour a cup of water in there to see it work.

They are messy holes, Probably cheap windows from a factory that dosnt have a nice routing machine for doing them.

P.s you should clean and lubricate your hinges or they wont last long like that.

Thank you Gazman.

Oh but that exercise depressed me.

The water went down the hole all right but NO sign of it draining onto the sill and away.

Its draining down into the fabric of this timber framed house.

Try some more water and maybe a poke around in the hole with a small screw driver, The drainage holes underneath may be blocked (assuming they have been drilled).
