Breakdown: 1975 - narrated by Jodie Foster no less, this 90 minute documentary takes a look back at a pivotal year in American life. After the Watergate scandal and the end of the Vietnam War left people at a loss to explain how it had all gone wrong so quickly since the heady optimism of the Kennedy administration.

I had no idea about any of that as we toured America for the first time in the Summer of '75, in a big yellow gas-guzzling Lincoln Continental. It was a world away from a quiet middle-class upbringing, and opened my eyes to a host of influences that remain with me to this day: especially the music.

Snap! A really good, old film, and does leave you thinking - how the world would be so different, had you never been born.

I'm just giving 'Oppenheimer' another go, it failed to gel, the first time around
I watched Oppenheimer in November on a flight home from Japan which included a visit to Hiroshima, it seemed sort of appropriate

I watched one of my all time favourites yesterday - Where Eagles Dare - on my firestick. Wasn’t on terrestrial TV anywhere this Christmas.

BBC weather: Carol Kirkwood always brings sunshine, whatever the weather, when she smiles. A frosty time for all in t'Highlands this week.

Darts. Littler won his match but he had a lot of the audience booing him. He doesn’t seem to be very popular with the crowd. He thanked them for booing him and reminded them that their ticket money was paying his prize money! I think he's in for a rough ride.
