What cable to use to first fix electric gate connection?

8 core alarm cable ok for photocells and switches,but NOT OK for intercom and video
Get a quote from an installer and tell him you want to put cables in first and ask for a wiring diagram and cable spec if you are unsure?
Could cause problems with the install if you do not get it right at this stage ?

Alarm cable is not suitable for mains voltages. So take it back.

Find your installer, they tell you what ducts to install and where. They arrive and provide and install the system including the cables.

But there is no mention of what goes from inside the house to the outside before we close up the floors and walls inside the front wall.

There is no mention as it will be dependant of what gates you get. Just install ducting so cables can be installed later when you have the gate company in.

Sorry did not mean use alarm cable from 240volt mains that is a no.
What I meant was you could use 8 core alarm cable on the photocells which are low voltage and for other low voltage devices.
Best way to sort is just put ducting so in as already discussed in thread ?
