Yesterday, after the thunderstorms, my partner used her computer, but there was a constant buzzing/arcing from the 4-way on my side.

A kick of the plug revealed a potential loose circuit within the plug, and her clock had reset itself, and her computer had been going off randomly.

So I made her unplug it, to prevent electrocution to myself, and today tightened up its connections. They were twist type connections strangely, and a 10A fuse fitted? I thought fuses came in 3, 5 and 13A configurations?

Sorting it out under the new energy saving bulbs that we have to use put a strain on my eyes.

But in domestic wiring I've only ever seen 3, 5 and 13A fuses. Internally I've seen anything from 350mA to 60A fuses, but never a 10A fuse in a plug!

As of this weekend I've plasterboarded a ceiling and removed knacked plaster from the chimney breast, sawn up the doors etc. from the wardrobes I'd previously ripped out, got rid of the bath , filled several bags of rubbish and after I've finished my cup of tea I'm going to start tiling the toilet and repair a fence if I have the time
