What Drain Is This (With Pics)

This is in my front garden, the first pic is half a bucket that was used to cover the hole.

What is this? is full of earth and looks like its not in use.

Is there a cover that i could get for this? the whole diameter is app 10"

you could cut a disc of something then seal with cement, unless it is a trap which requires to be vented and possiblyh rodded in the future if blocked

Is it not your outside stop tap ? rake out the crud and check before filling it up

Hi - Its not the main stop tap as that is out on the pavement.

Is it inline with the pavement stopcock .
My neighbour had his in the garden and they just came and cut the pipe at the pavement and fitted another new one and a water meter.
The one in the garden was left still there as far as I know .

Yeah it does look like it runs in-line with the stop cock in the road.
I'm going to make a cover for it when I get back to work in my workshop.

It looks like an old soil pipe from an outside W.C.
