What have I been saying

I was brought up on baked beans, to this day my favourite meal is beans and cheese on toast :)
Me too, though prefer without cheese (or egg). Just pure beans :)

When I lived alone, I'd eat the heinz curry beans and rice as a quick meal. Can't do that now, bit anti-social...

Mashed up pilchards with rice, with tinned or frozen peas, beans and baby carrots. Plenty of herbs, pepper and sprinkling of spices. even add a bit of gravy granules or oxo.

it's the same animal as sardines. I like the ones packed in oil, grilled.

For some reason pilchards are often sold in tomato sauce, quite different though some people like them on toast.

Same as courgette and marrow?
When do sardines become pilchards, or vice-versa?
Is it the small - adult difference?
Or a geographical difference?

size and (possibly) preparation. Anchovies are similar only smaller.

Apparently sprats and round herrings may also be sold as sardines, but are not the same.
