Could never happen again. One of my regrets.

The route is Turkey, Syria, Iran, Pakistan, Kashmir into India. Not something I'd want to do now.

couldn't you just scale it down a bit and maybe do it through Devon to Wales or something similar.

Devon and Wales are a lot safer than Syria and Iran.
However Ill be taking a trip to my mate in Windsor before December. One wrong turn and I could be in Pakistan.

I crossed into Hertfordshire last night in the new van. That was ok.
I'll get used to the van before I really take it off track.
