What is a 3 way shower diverter?

Hi Guys,

Spent the evening on the internet looking for what I thought was referred to as a concealed 3 way thermostatic shower diverter. Basically I had in mind to have an overhead shower, a small hand shower that will retract into the bath frame and one of those overflow bath inlet taps (water comes in through the bath overflow). The reason for this is to keep it lookign neat, i.e. simply one set of taps/the diverter.

Is it a 3 way diverter I want? Can anyone send me a link to an example. The ones I saw had 3 knobs/taps on them. i don't understand how each of these can independantly turn on the water flow and control the temperature.
