Hi all,

I have heard this mentioned before but apart form obvious references to pot, I cannot find any true answer to it.

Can anyone tell me what a pot block is?

Cheers

It may refer to the old system of filler-block floors in commercial buildings and suchlike.
Hollow, extruded clay blocks were often incorporated into solid floors to reduce weight. There were gaps between them which had steel reinforcement inserted, and then concreted.

As previous answer - they are teracotta hollow blocks and they were used in the 60`s - poxy awful things with no insulation value , and nigh on impossible to get a fixing into :x You`ll know if your house has them - look in the attic . One of my previous houses did have them , cavity wall insulation made a big difference

Wrong there Tony, it used to be a snooker programme on TV.
