What is my best way of protecting oak skirting board and architrave?

What about if the engineered wood has been brushed and oiled? Would you you treat it with Polyx or not?

I think that means that it already has a polyx-like treatment applied, so you do not need to apply more - but in the future, you could potentially apply something of that sort to “top up” the finish. But I’m not an expert!

Vinyl flooring?
I had laminate then swapped to engineered oak and the oak feels warm to stand on compared to the laminate.
As for damage I have dropped heavy stuff and it dents rather than chips like laminate. And you can sand down the oak and re varnish.
A moment of madness. I am not going to get vinyl.

I have ordered a sample of this https://luxuryflooring.co.uk/denver-summer-engineered-oak.html. I think this is going to be my choice of flooring.

I just need final help with the getting the right underlay.

Is this underlay ok?

To fit the underlay do I need anything else besides joining tape?

Is this joining tape ok?

I think that is the correct underlay, I just remember the exact one I used but it was duralay
For fitting you will also need something to wedge and hold the expansion gap espicually when laying the first few rows.
I see the floor is floating as you are using underlay - so you have to glue the Tongue & Groove, did you know this.

I have noticed that the flooring in only 10mm which seems very thin to me for engineered. Mine is 18mm including a 5mm oak top, the idea of the engineered part is that each layer of the ply underneath is in a different direction giving it a good stability and minimum expansion, my 18mm has 7 layers with the 5mm oak ontop.
I did do it at least 10 years ago so maybe the tec has progressed but 10mm is thinner than some laminates.
