Hi folks,
I've just had my gas fire removed. It's been plastered up and an air vent put in.Should I just sand it down and paint directly over the plaster or would I be better off putting some lining paper over it?
The rest of the wall has lining paper and I would like it to blend in as best as possible?
Any help/advice is much appreciated.
Thanks.

Use lining paper or the difference in texture will notice.

Ideally strip & repaper the whole breast

Thanks. It's not got a breast as such.It was a gas fire/back boiler on the main wall.Do you think I should strip and repaper the whole wall? It's the main front wall in the living room?

Up to you IF you can strip a whole drop and replace it you might get lucky but chances are it will not work as the edges each side will get damaged.

Re-doing the wall is the best way but you can try patching in perhaps tearing the paper edges where they overlap or cutting to fit and trying to hide the join with fine surface pollyfilla but for the best result I would repaper the wall to the corners ;)
