Hi All,

New here and looking for some advice.

We're relaying the floor in our kitchen the old floor was layed sometime between 1950 and 1990.

Our surveyor checked the tiles in the kitchen and advised there was no asbestos, but this afternoon we were removing the tiles and as we crossed the threshold into the pantry we disturbed this blue looking substance and we have no idea what it is, whether we need to get an licenced asbestos contractor in or what.

Exclude the white hairs in 1.jpg, we have a yellow lab and he's shedding a lot of hair in this weather!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

All the best.

Frostie

it looks like insulating plastic foam.

It doesn't look anything like asbestos board.

Those tiles do have asbestos in them, how much? I'm not sure.

Someone with better knowledge will be here soon to advise.

simple tiles, rip them up and dispose of them as inert waste. if your concerned then use a water spray to dampen the area while working on them.
