Hi

Stripped out whole house. This item was taken out near the old cylinder by the builders. Looks like a heat exchanger of some sort - could someone pls confirm?

Is this worth much to try and sell on, or where I might be able to use it following my renovation (if needed).

It's a plate heat exchanger and probably mostly made of stainless steel. Might be worth putting it on eBay.

Yes mate - the flooding happened after we left. Honourable outlaws are just outside the affected area. Lots of underground car parks there so some hefty insurance claims coming.

Had a typhoon last time I was there. It was twenty minutes late - so the weather forecaster lady had to apologise for her inaccuracy :lol: You gotta love the Japanese.

Cheers bud. Honourable MIL got her first dishwasher after more than 50 years of marriage :lol:

Trying to teach them the maintenance of the filters was interesting.

Our scrappy used to pay a quid each as they cant seperate the plating from the copper so it was mixed steel price. Might get the same again for the non ferrous attatched to it.

What is actually the purpose of it in a domestic house setting of you already have a boiler and storage cylinder. Previous owners had a quirky setup which was confusing.

Look what this Artisan has done with a couple;

Ok so everyone has said what it is, how would it work and what is its purpose. I mean, but not having this item, how would a system which had a boiler and storage cylinder work. I'm just not understanding what benefit this offered and why the previous owner had it.
