I don't see the need for BIN. I see no difficult surface that needs special treatment.

If DW wants a shoddy job and a rough surface, let her have it. She'll change her mind soon enough so use something that is easy to strip.

A heavily patterned paper will hide the uneven surface. Big flowers, perhaps.
