What is this patch in new plaster?

About a month ago we had a shower removed and the walls plastered ready for wall papering however there’s a strange circular patch left where the shower valve was. It doesn’t feel wet but is grainy to the touch. Could this be mineral deposits or as I fear water coming through where the valve hasn’t been capped off? Thank you for your help!

Might just be filler which is a different texture and thickness to the surrounding plaster.
