I've just replaced the element in my Baumatic oven because it was burnt out but now when i turn the oven on it seems to overheat and shut the oven off after a few minutes (the fan stops, element goes off and all lights on the display go out). When i leave the oven for a while the display will come back on and i am able to start heating the oven up again before it turns itself off again.
Any ideas why this might be? I didnt have the problem before replacing the element. The new element i was sent is 2500W and 240v compared to the old one which was 2300W and 225V - do you think this could be a cause of this problem? Or might i have reconnected the wires incorrectly? Or a problem with the thermostat perhaps?
