Hi
I am creating a door opening from a hall into an integral garage, the wall is single breezeblock. It is in the middle of my house and it is load bearing . The door will be 600mm wide , could you tell me what type , size and strenth lintel I will need .thank you

600mm, are you sure!

regardless, even if you fit a standard size 2'- 6" (762mm) door you will still only need a 75mm x 100mm p.c.c. builders lintel. allow 150mm end bearings.

i think 100mm end bearings may even suffice in this case, but i'm not an s.e.

there aren't any steel beams (point load) directly above proposed doorway are there?
