I can only find roofing mastic listed.

Is there something different to use when fitting the sink unit to the worktop or can I use silicone sealant please?

There is quite a bit needed!

Use silicon.

Why do you need a lot, a quarter of a tube is too much

Thanks for the quick replies folks!

I did some more searching and the terms silicone and mastic seem interchangeable

I guess when the sink was fired it went out of true so it is quite rocky on the worktop. Maybe it won't need as much silicone as I think - hopefully!

If you're bedding the sink on a laminate worktop then be careful as the silicone will slightly dull the surface of the laminate where it toches it. I think it's the acetic acid or something similar in the sealant. I never know whether to wipe the excess immediately and have a neat joint and a wider 'watermark', or let dry and trim afterwards for a smaller watermark.
