What oil in a Ryobi 4 stroke strimmer?

Hi there,

I have inherited a Ryobi 4 stroke brush cutter, model RBC-430SES, but need to top up the oil. The manual states using 10w-30 engine oil, and they recommend 10w-30 G-OIL made by Green Earth Technologies. This is not (easily) available in the UK, and local garages/garden centres don't seem to stock a 10w-30 oil of any type.

Am I safe using a standard 5w-30 or a 10w-40 engine oil instead, or does anyone have a decent source for 10w-30 G-OIL?

Information from Ryobi is pretty thin on the ground, and they do not answer e-mails!

Thanks,
Tom.

5w-30 will be fine as long it is of the same type e.g. mineral and not synthetic.
I bought a mower not too long ago, a 1970 mountfield witha B+S engine that looked like it hadn't ever had an oil change and it still runs great. I used some regular Castrol.
